Welcome to The Real Friends of the Rec, here's what we're all about, in three easy steps:

Objective

To establish a significant membership association to speak for the citizens of and visitors to the World Heritage City of Bath who wish the Recreation Ground Bath to continue to serve and host the sporting and cultural life of the City of Bath as it has successfully done in the past but in accordance with the needs of today's players, users, spectators & audiences of games & other events on the Recreation Ground.

Aims

To help secure the support of the citizens of and visitors to Bath for the development of and improvements to the Recreation Ground which will meet the needs of sporting and other users and ensure the financial support of commercial interests, including the Bath Rugby Club. To encourage the Trustees of the Bath Recreation Ground to consider the best interests of the Rec, in particular its long-term financial viability.

Action

The association will seek urgent dialogue with the Trustees of the Bath Recreation Ground, the Charity Commission, Bath and NE Somerset Council and other stakeholders for the proper use and development of the Recreation Ground on behalf of the beneficiaries of the Recreation Ground Bath, namely the citizens of Bath & NE Somerset and the visitors to Bath.
This is a brief summary of our Objective, Aims and intended Action, but do have a look at our Constitution to understand more about our formal governanceĀ arrangements.
